Project Objectives
Jockey Club Intergenerational Communication and Health Promotion programme is a 3-year programme funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charity Trust and initiated by the Asia-Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies (APIAS), Lingnan University starting from the beginning of 2017. In the collaboration with (1) the Neighbourhood of Advice-Action Council (NAAC, (2) Physical Fitness Association of Hong Kong, China (PFA), (3) Tuen Mun Healthy City Association Limited, (4) Tuen Mun Hospital and (5) Yan Oi Tong (YOT), the Programme aims to i) facilitate intergenerational communication, ii) promote healthy ageing community and iii) advocate early prevention and intervention of health through various cross-sector partnerships in Tuen Mun and Yuen Long districts.
Project Objectives
The key objectives of the Programme are four-fold:
- To raise awareness about active ageing, healthy living and nurture intergenerational solidarity in Hong Kong through young and old partnership.
- To promote older people’s physical and psychosocial well-being within primary care settings.
- To raise public awareness towards physical psychological well-being of older people.
- To strengthen the role of different stakeholders in the community in primary care.
